O2A Registry

[edit | edit source]

The registry is a metadata database for platforms, devices and sensors or product related information. Within the SOOP data framework the O2A registry offers to store essential metadata about SOOP obsveration technologies, such as sensor information (e.g. unique sensor ID = UUID, type, parameter, accuracy, manufacturer, calibration details etc.), or information about observation vessels (e.g. vessel name, owner, campaign etc.). It is therefore an important component for SOOP by enriching data measured by ships of opportunity with information about the measurement technolgy.

The O2A Registry has a parent-child hierarchy, so that e.g. sensors can be linked to vessels and those to campaigns etc.
